What is an RSVP?

RSVP comes from the French phrase “Répondez s’il vous plaît,” meaning “Please respond.”

It refers to the response from a guest confirming whether or not they will attend your wedding — not the invitation itself.

Traditionally, you send an invitation and request an RSVP from guests.

In modern wedding websites, the RSVP page is simply the place where your guests can send that response online.
