How does Guest name required work?

The Guest name required setting asks guests to identify themselves before viewing your wedding website.

Guests look up their name on your guest list and select their party. They’ll then see a version of your website tailored to them, including:

• Private events their party is invited to
• Website sections intended for their party
• Their personalised RSVP details

This is especially useful if your website contains information that should only be shown to certain guests.

Turn on Guest name required

1. Go to Wedding website.
2. Open Settings.
3. Find Guest experience.
4. Switch on Guest name required.

Your guests must already be on your guest list so they can find and select their name.

If your website also has a passcode, guests will enter the passcode first and then look up their name.

What will guests see?

When guests open your regular website address, they’ll be asked to enter their name before the website is displayed.

Once they select their name, Say I do identifies their party and displays the version of the website intended for them. For example, a private welcome dinner will only appear if their party is invited to it.

Is this the same as a unique website link?

No. A unique website link identifies a particular party automatically, so those guests don’t need to look up their name.

Guest name required lets you share your regular website address with everyone. Each guest identifies themselves when they visit.

Is Guest name required a security feature?

Guest name lookup helps personalise what each guest sees, but it is not a substitute for password protection.

If you want to restrict general access to your website, you should also add a passcode to your wedding website.
